75 #Aadhaar cards found in a bag in Vaniyambadi #WTFnews

A bag containing 75 Aadhaar cards was found dumped on the premises of a locked house at Muslimpur, Vaniyambadi on Tuesday. Officials of the Postal Department are conducting an investigation into the incident.

According to officials, the house has been locked for two years. The family which was residing in had come over on Tuesday. They found a bag containing the Aadhaar cards and a few other unregistered postal articles in the premises.

On being informed, Senthil Kumar, tahsildar of Vaniyambadi went to the spot. He handed over the bag containing the cards to officials of the Postal Department.

Officials said the bag contained 75 Aadhaar cards and 31 unregistered postal articles.

Postal officials said the Inspector of Post Offices, Tirupattur and Vaniyambadi had taken up investigation at the spot.

“The Aadhaar cards were posted from Bangalore in November 2013. All the cards were pertaining to Muslimpur area in Vaniyambadi Town,” N.P. Sampath, Superintendent of Post Offices, Tirupattur said.

He along with other officials will take up further investigation into the incident.

In November 2014, 244 Aadhaar cards were found dumped in garbage at Basheerabad in Vaniyambadi. Two postal employees were suspended following this incident.
