AIB Roast: After Russell Peters, Pooja Bhatt slams Aamir Khan

New Delhi: It is only yesterday that standup comedian Russell Peters slammed Aamir Khan for criticizing AIB Roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and now actress-director Pooja Bhatt has come forward to pan his remark.

Pooja Bhatt who has shared the screen space with Mr. Perfectionist in ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin’ has strictly condemned the actor for his response to the controversial show.

The actress in an interview to a leading daily took on Aamir Khan recalling how his film Delhi Belly used double meaning song ‘Bhaag DK Bose’ and his nude PK poster left nothing for imagination. Pointing out to Aamir’s ventures, namely ‘Delhi-Belly’ and ‘PK’, the actress- filmmaker stated the ‘Bhaag DK Bose’ song from ‘Delhi Belly’ had double meaning whereas the ‘PK’ poster in which Aamir was covering his modesty with a radio was also indecent.

“I feel it’s hypocritical self-styled moralists and the Aamir Khans of the world, who are more frightening and injurious. I am appalled at his sudden self-righteous mode. He has completely forgotten his body of work – the double meaning song, Bhaag DK Bose – in Delhi Belly, and the PK poster where he left nothing to the imagination, putting Sunny Leone to shame!”, she said.

The actress also remained unperturbed over the FIR lodged against her half sister Alia Bhatt (who marked her presence at the show) and other AIB members as she added further, “these are frivolous and absurd cases filed by bullies to trouble people and waste the time of the courts that have more important cases to deal with.”

Meanwhile, the PK actor has seriously invited trouble from all over for his remark. While his fans surely have disliked his opinion, a day before the Canadian standup comedian Russell Peters, who was in India for a show, even went on to ask Aamir to ‘shut up’ and ‘mind his own business’.

Aamir Khan last week said that he was deeply disturbed by what AIB team did publicly. Also the actor asserted that the jokes that were cracked in AIB Roast were not at all funny for him, rather he was deeply affected by the act and he also scolded Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for being part of the show.

Well, looks like the actor should rethink his opinion since it is inviting more of haters than supporters!

Bollywood filmmaker and producer Mahesh Bhatt, father of Alia Bhatt who was part of the AIB Knockout show audience, had expressed his displeasure after an FIR was filed against his daughter and not against BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi.

But in a series of tweets addressed to Mahesh Bhatt, actress Sonakshi Sinha said that there had been many FIRs filed in cities – Delhi and Kolkata – against the AIB roast in which she has been named and not his daughter Alia.

Mahesh Bhatt had said there is a conspiracy at play. “Alia was a participant and also subjected to the humour. The FIR names Deepika Padukone and Alia among the participants. Why not the other 3,998 attendees of the show? More importantly, if it names celebrities in the audience, why not Sonakshi Sinha,” he asked, drawing links to the latter’s actor father and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha. Sonakshi was also seated in the audience and subjected to similar jokes by the show’s participants. “Clearly, certain forces are orchestrating this series of events. The answer is in my question,” he said.

You have to be naive not to see that.” To which Sonakshi Sinha, tweeted a series of posts.

Dear Mr.@MaheshNBhatt, a couple of pointless FIR’s have been filed before this (delhi and kol if im not mistaken, in which my name was. Mentioned and Alia’s wasnt. I don’t remember my father questioning them as to how or why so. I do agree with u however, if these FIR’s. Are filed on 2-3 members of the audience, why not the other 3,998. Lets not give these ppl the attention they so desperately seek, And as far as my memeory serves me, nobody EVER went to jail for laughing. (sic)
But, in response to her tweets, Mahesh Bhatt tweeted: @sonakshisinha TRUE! I could not agree with you more. Thank you for your SANE response. Amazed by your maturity at this tender age. Love.

Mahesh Bhatt quickly replied to Sonakshi and lauded her for a ‘SANE’ reply.

In the latest development on the AIB row, Mumbai police on Thursday registered an FIR against 14 persons, including Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and others who organised or participated in the AIB Knockout show held in Worli on January 20.

The FIR was filed under sections of the law pertaining to criminal conspiracy for staging an obscene show, using vulgar or pornographic words before an audience including women and for circulating obscene or pornographic content on the Internet, among others.

The FIR was ordered by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate C S Baviskar of Girgaum Court based on a complaint by social activist Santosh Daundkar, who approached the court after the police failed to act on a written complaint.
