The younger brother of a BJP MP ran over his SUV over a school director in a fit of rage after a “dispute” over a piece of land erupted in Jashpur district, about 300 km north-east of Raipur on Monday.

The Jashpur police has lodged an FIR against Vikaramaditya Singh Judeo, brother of Ranvijay Singh Judeo, a Rajya Sabha MP.

“Vikaramaditya is absconding after he drove his four-wheeler over the school director. We have launched a manhunt to nab him. There are cases of abduction and forcefully keeping two minor children as slaves pending against Vikaramaditya Judeo in 2009 and 2010”, the district superintendent of police G S Jaiswal told Hindustan Times.

Jaiswal informed that the critically injured school director Parmeshwar Gupta has been rushed to Ranchi in Jharkhand for immediate medical attention.

According to Jashpur police, Vikramaditya got into a scuffle with Gupta, who was inspecting the piece of land he had bought from Judeo’s family about a decade ago.

“Vikramaditya and his two accomplices reached the spot where Gupta was looking over the land and allegedly threatened him, telling him to forget about the land and stop any construction of a school there. Gupta was reluctant to listen following which Vikramaditya turn furious, thrashed the school director and later ran his SUV-Pajero over Gupta, seriously injuring him and fled the scene”, the police said.

Vikramaditya is also the nephew of late BJP MP Dilip Singh Judeo. He contested the state assembly elections in 2013 and lost. He is known among the locals for his “notorious” behaviour. The Judeo clan hails from the erstwhile royal family of Jashpur.
