Cops say he has “mental issue” ?

Hyderabad: A “missing” research scholar of Hyderabad Central University (HCU) has been traced, with the police on Monday denying reports that he friends with Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula.

Police said that D Suresh, whose father had lodged a complaint with Gachibowli police on Saturday stating that his son went missing from the health centre on the varsity campus, was facing some “mental problem” and went away himself.

Suresh was traced yesterday.

“Who said he was a friend of Rohith?. He is a research scholar. He had been facing some mental disorder and went away himself by driving his bike after he was taken to the health centre,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhapur Division) M Ramana Kumar.

Meanwhile, Gachibowli police station inspector J Ramesh Kumar said, “The missing HCU student was found at his friend’s room at Nallagandla area and he is with his father now”.
