Days after she summoned Aam Aadmi Party member Kumar Vishwas to clear the air about an alleged affair he had with a party volunteer, Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Barkha Singh has written to lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung asking for a complaint to be filed against Vishwas for threatening her.The case in which Singh summoned Vishwas did not have a direct complaint against him. Instead, the complainant wanted Vishwas to deny being in a relationship with her. In her letter to the LG, Singh has said, “In the complaint filed in DCW, she (the complainant) had requested the commission to summon Vishwas to the commission and ask him to publicly , rather in front of media, clear all the baseless, immoral charges about her supposed illicit relationship with him so that her family is reunited and she gains the confidence of her husband who is currently doubting character after (seeing) pictures with Vishwas and derogatory post on Facebook.“

While Vishwas failed to appear twice before the commission, DCW member Juhi Khan posed a major embarrassment for Singh when she publicly resigned from the commission claiming that Vishwas was being framed in a political conspiracy .

Singh has alleged, “There were acrimonious scenes in the commission and some AAP volunteers forcibly recorded the proceedings and argued with me… thus putting pressure to dissuade (me from) giving justice to the distressed woman. Vishwas is threatening me through his cohorts and is sending number of tweets as well.“ She has also asked for an FIR to be filed against him for “possible threat“ from him. Vishwas is touring the US at present and his party refused to comment on the issue, saying that Singh was on an attentionseeking drive.
