As a part of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the World Bank Group’s Connect4Climate program, the United Nations and Vulcan Productions, in collaboration with the Italian energy company Enel, have organised the Film4Climate Global Video Competition.

The competition – which will be held between 20 June and 17 September – is aimed at promoting sustainability in the creative industries by engaging young people in the fight against climate change.

This competition aims to provide a global platform for filmmakers between the age group of 14 to 35 from across the world. Applicants are invited to create a Public Service Advertisement (PSA) of less than 1 minute or a short film of 1-5 minutes about climate change.

The winners will be announced at a high-profile awards ceremony at the United Nations COP22 Climate Summit in Marrakesh, Morocco in November. The best entries will win cash prizes ranging from $8000 to $2000.

Apart from the main cash prize, there are a number of special prizes like People’s Choice award, a MENA-Award for the best entry from the Middle East and North Africa region, and a “Price on Carbon Pollution” award for various other outstanding entries. Other prizes, including worldwide distribution by Vulcan Productions, will be awarded as determined by presenting partners.

Interested individuals may send in their short films on climate change here or mail their entries to film4climate.net.
