Mysore, May 7- The State Government has decided to distribute Aadhar-like ID cards with 12 digits to farmers.

The Government has taken up the project under ‘K-Kisan’ programme and the preliminary process in Mysore district was launched on May 5. The programme is aimed at taking the agricultural benefits directly to the doorstep of farmers. In the first level, all the Raitha Samparka Kendras at Hobli levels have been computerised, while the remaining centres will be brought under the network soon. Once the project gets going, all the transactions related to agriculture will be made through it.

The concerned authorities have already launched an exercise to collect information about farmers and their land holdings at the Hobli level. Tahsildars and other officials have been asked to take up necessary action, as at the time of collecting information, the farmers have to mandatorily produce a copy of the Right to Tenancy Certificate (RTC) for which the officials have been instructed to create awareness among the farmers.
