A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly confined and gangraped by six persons for three days, the police said, adding that they have arrested five persons in this connection on Wednesday.

The woman, a resident of Mafatiya Para, stayed with her parents and went missing on October 13. She was found in an abandoned house near the area late on Tuesday. The police said that she had been kept there by the six accused for the last three days.

According to a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents with the Thorala police station, the woman was lured by one Natha Koli, a resident of the same area. Natha offered her snacks and took her to the abandoned house where he and his five friends, including a 15-year-boy, raped her for three days, the police said. A girl residing in the same area saw the woman in the house and informed her parents, who took the victim to her home, where she informed her parents about the offence, the police said.

“The victim was abducted on October 13 and found yesterday in an abandoned house near the area where six persons had allegedly raped her,” Vishwarajsinh Jadeja, police inspector of Detection of Crime Branch, said. “Five persons, including Natha, his younger brother Vikram and the boy, have been arrested while search is on for one more person who is absconding,” Jadeja added.

The DCB PI said that the other arrested men were in their early 20s and worked as casual labourers. “Two years ago the woman got married, but returned to her parents’ home four months later due to her illness,” Jadeja said.
