Demand termination of HOD forensic medicine

Srinagar, Jan 5: Students from valley’s different professional colleges including GMC Srinagar and SKUAST today staged demonstrations here demanding disciplinary action not less than ‘termination’ of HoD Forensic Medicines GMC Jammu, Dr Bhupesh Khajuria for attempting to outrage the modesty of a Ladakhi girl student.
Carrying banners and placards that reads ‘teachers are spiritual fathers not molesters and respect gender that gave you birth’ hundreds of the students both male and female staged demonstrations at Lal Chowk to protest the administrations attempts of shielding the molestation accused.
The agitated students alleged that efforts to hush-up the case are on as the administration so far has failed to initiate any stern action against Dr Bhupesh.
They demanded disciplinary actions not less than termination against the guilty Professor who had allegedly attempted to molest MBBS Final Year girl student from Ladakh province of the state.

Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu authorities also attached Dr Bhupesh who is Head of Department, Forensic Medicines on the complaint filed by the victim student.
“We won’t let another Damini Nirbahaya like episode to repeat, Ladakhi girls are not safe anywhere they face similar incidents day in and day out, but the government has so far maintained silence over the issue,” a protesting girl from GMC Srinagar claimed.
The protesters demanded that the guilty Professor must not be spared and stern punishment be given to him for blemishing the image of a teacher and outraging modesty of student.
“These attempts are intolerable; we cannot remain silent over the issue as is being expected from us, we will not let the family of the victim down and stand by them till the accused is brought to book,” she added.
They demanded that the government should permanently terminate him from services “he must not let free as there is no guarantee that he will not repeat the same, such acts not only encourage people with wicked mentality but also put adverse impact on the society,” she claimed.
