The victim had gone out with her male friend on a motorbike at around 9 pm. Just when the duo was passing through a vacant plot near the Sahara City township, they were spotted by four youths aged between 18 and 20 years. All of the accused were consuming alcohol and they stopped the duo.
While the girl was forcefully taken by two of them to a nearby bush, the other two youths Sonu and Shahrukh assaulted the nurse’s male friend, looted his motorbike and cell-phone, before holding him captive.
Sumit, a Class XI student, and Dharmendra, a daily wage labourer, allegedly dragged the nurse into the bush and raped her one by one. When one of the two youths – Sonu – who held the victim’s male friend captive, went towards the girl with an intention to rape her, the male friend managed to escape from the other youth – Shahrukh’s clutches.
According to SP East OP Tripathi, victim’s male friend immediately rushed to the Azad Nagar police station fleeing on the motorcycle of one of the accused at around 11.30 pm, and reported the episode, after which the beat constables immediately acted in the matter and rushed to the spot.
“When the constables reached the spot, the four youngsters had fled from the spot leaving the girl behind. Based on the details of the accused narrated by the girl and her friend, the two accused who allegedly gang-raped the girl were arrested by the police. Efforts are underway to arrest the two other accused,” added Tripathi on Friday.
All the four accused, including the two arrested youngsters Sumit and Dharmendra have been booked by the Sanyogitaganj police for abduction, gang-rape and loot under Sections 366, 376(2)(g) and 392 of IPC.
