Thrissur IG 'caught copying' in MG University exam

T.J. Jose

Kochi: A top officer of Kerala Police on Monday found himself in an embarrassing situation as he was sent out of an examination hall after he was found copying.

Thrissur Range Inspector General (IG) of Police T.J. Jose IPS was appearing for the LLM (Master of Laws) examination of Mahatma Gandhi University at St. Paul’s College in Kalamassery when he was found copying. The invigilator, who did not know it was the IG, caught the top cop ‘red-handed’ and found torn pages of a study materiel from Jose, Manorama News reported.

The principal of the college reportedly recommended that Jose be debarred from appearing for examinations of the university.

When quizzed about what happened, Jose rejected the reports and said that he had completed writing the exam.

“It is true that I wrote the exam, but the rest of the report is not true. I finished the test and stepped out of the exam hall half-an-hour before the allotted time. I don’t know how such a news item has cropped up,” the IG said.
