Muzaffarnagar: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her father, over her relationship with a man of a different community in Muzaffarnagar on Friday, according to the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police.
Rukhsar’s father, Hasan, did not approve of her relationship with a Dalit man from their village. When she refused to stop seeing her friend, Hasan killed her in a fit of rage, the police said. Hasan has been arrested.
Hasan allegedly strangled his daughter Rukhsar following which he buried her body at a graveyard.
The crime was reported to the police by a security guard. The police have registered a case of murder.
The UP police added that they received a complaint that the man named Hasan had killed his daughter. During investigation, the guard as well as Hasan’s wife confirmed that he, accompanied by another man killed Rukhsar by strangling her.
Hasan denied killing his daughter but admitted that he buried Rukhsar’s body at a graveyard near his home. He added that Rukhsar was killed by three-four villagers because everyone in the village knew she was in a relationship with the Dalit man.
Rukhsar’s body was dug out and sent for a post-mortem.
