While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders are primarily responsible for the present woes.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders force me to beg them, please them for even the smallest work.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders force me to bribing for the smallest work.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders do not give voice to our basic issues.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders take the votes of the common people and then frame anti-people policies.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders resort to mere memorandums, dharnas and rallies on our basic issues.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders are experts in sloganeering and not concrete work.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders continue to be cronies of a handful of rich and elite.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders go seeking votes with folded hands and during the rest of their five years force voters to seek them with folded hands.
While voting I forgot that I continue to hold these political parties and leaders as corrupt.
While voting I forgot that I continue to hold these political parties and leaders as anti-people.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders spend crores of tax payer’s money for their personal security.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders resort to party hopping to remain in power.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders through their policies are destroying both land and agriculture.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders through their policies are contaminating the ground and surface water.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders through their policies have contaminated our food.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leader’s polices made us to live in Mediclaim World.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leader’s polices made medicine as part of regular diet.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders have forced us through their policies to seek voluntary retirement at a young age.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders through their policies have left me and my children to be unemployed with job insecurity.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders through their policies have extended work hours from 8 to 12-14-16 hours.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders have done a vanishing act with permanent jobs.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders have in reality decreased my real living wage.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders after resorting to comodification and privatisation of education and health services colluded to keep me uneducated and unwell.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders have strengthened caste system.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders resort to empty sloganeering on issue of rape and violence against women.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders have strengthened patriarchy.
While voting I forgot that these political parties and leaders sneer at tribals labeling the as Vanvasis.
While voting I forgot that there is a NOTA button in EVM.
But, but
After voting, I struggled and strived with many others through peoples’ movements and forced these very political parties and leaders to enable – The Right to Information Act, Domestic Violence Act, Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act, Food Security Act, Forest Rights Act etc. There is still room for improving them
So, If we were to votes with dues seriousness.
We can be all empowered to bring the changes we want and deserve.
Let us all resolve to work towards building up for a real people’s alternate.
