Yog guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday appreciated government’s efforts to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes to combat corruption and black money. He also blamed opposition for queues outside ATMs and banks and said, “the crowds have been sent by the opposition parties. On a question over demonetisation during International Coronary Congress organised by Medanta, the Medicity Ramdev said, “Country is passing through economic challenges and with this decision PM Modi has given a jolt to people indulged in corruption, black money, terrorism and counterfeit currencies.” He further said that to defame Modi, Opposition is gathering people outside ATMs and banks to create the huge crowds. He also urged people to help the government to sanitise system instead of imposing allegations.

“In war time soldiers face many difficulties, even remain hungry for weeks. Can’t we people face this difficulty for some days in nation’s interest.”

Referring the corruption and black money he said, “Some people criticising the government for this step because they are facing problem now.” Yog guru also told people about the importance of Yoga and Ayurveda.

The government on November 8 had banned the high denomination bank notes to fight against corruption and black money in a surprise decision that prompted people to stand in serpentine queues outside banks, ATMs and post office to exchange their old notes. Now, its seventh day and the situation is still worse, however, government and people are expecting normalisation from the end of this week as new Rs 500 notes have also hit the banks, ATMs and post offices.
