INDORE: A court on Friday gaveCBI a final opportunity to finish testimonies of their witnesses in the Shehla Masood murder trial at the next hearing as the case was being stretched for too long.
The court said that if the prosecution witnesses were not present for the next hearing, the court will proceed to record the statements of the accused.
he court passed this order when cross examination of one of the CBI inspectors, VS Nair, was being conducted by advocates of the three accused Tabish, Shaquib and Saba Farooqi. Nair had been a member of the team that had investigated the murder and arrested the accused Zahida Parvez from Bhopal and Tabish from Kanpur.
“At the next hearing, the CBI inspector will be cross examined by Zahida’s advocate for which two days will be needed,” Atul Kumar, govt advocate said.

The case has been dragged too long. Justice has been delayed and denied for many months. The case must be investigated and verdict delivered at the earliest.
