A second case was registered on Thursday against Arunabh Kumar, the founder and CEO of web entertainment firm TVF, on charges of sexual harassment, a day after the first FIR was lodged.

The second FIR was registered after a struggling actor in her early 20s complained against Arunabh and a case was filed under section 354 of the IPC, the police said.

Divisional ACP Arun Chavan said the Versova incident allegedly took place in 2014.

On Wednesday, the MIDC Police in Andheri had filed a case of sexual harassment against Kumar based on another complaint.

A police team set out to look for Arunabh on Thursday but was unable to trace him.

“We will be trying to get in touch with all the people present at the time of the incident in Arunabh’s office for leads in the case. We are trying to talk to who all worked in the office at that point of time,” a police official said.

They also inform that there was no information on Arunabh pleading for an anticipatory bail, but a senior police officer said, “It is a non-bailable offence and we will oppose his plea. We want to arrest him.”

The first complainant is a 26-year-old woman who works for a production house and is also a writer. The incident, she alleged, took place at TVF’s office in May 2016, when she interacted with Arunabh over some project.

Kumar allegedly touched her inappropriately and also passed lewd comments. The woman vented her anger against the CEO on social media earlier this month, the police said.

The complainant was also among the first ones to come in support of another woman, who had made the first allegations against Arunabh on social media

Earlier this month, an anonymous blog post by a woman, alleging sexual harassment by Kumar when she was working at TVF between 2014 and 2016, went viral on the social media.

In her letter, posted anonymously on medium.com under the title ‘The Indian Uber- That is TVF’, she wrote the founder of the online content company allegedly molested her on several occasions during her tenure at the firm.

Since then, several other women have come forward with their stories of alleged harassment at TVF. Big wigs from the online comedy scene have let their opinions on the matter known and TVF has released a statement refuting all claims. Arunabh has given a clarification on the controversy as well

TVF had denied all the allegations and had said it would “leave no stone unturned to find the author of the article and bring them to severe justice for making such false allegations.”

Kumar, an IIT graduate, founded TVF in 2011.
