Mar 1, 2012 ,Indore: Interior designer Zahida Parvez, an accused of hiring contract killers to bump off Shehla Masood, denied the charge that her husband had any relationship with the slain RTI activist.
“I have not spoken to Shehla.., never met her. My call details would prove my innocence,” Zahida told the court of special judge Shubhra Singh. She was later sent on a police remand till March 6. Apart from Zahida, the judge remanded Saqib Danger alias Shyam, believed to be an accomplice of the main shooter, to six- day police remand.
Zahida was arrested by CBI from Bhopal on Tuesday. She was allowed to speak before the judge sent her on police remand. She claimed that her husband never met Shehla and had never fostered any relationship with her.
“It is all a bundle of lies. He (her husband) has not had relation with Shehla. I mean, we are too busy with our work,” said the interior designer and mother of two girls.
“I have been made an accused just because a criminal had taken my name,” Zahida said. She said she is an entrepreneur with good educational background. She broke down before she was sent on remand, expressing the fear the CBI would torture her.
