The Bombay High Court at Goa on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal’s plea to quash proceedings against him in the trial court, to December 12. The interim stay on the commencement of trial will continue.

The hearing on Wednesday was adjourned at the request of Mr. Tejpal on the ground that the mother of his lawyer, Aman Lekhi passed away.

Earlier, the High Court had refused to stay the process of framing of charges against Mr. Tejpal at a lower court in Mapusa in North Goa, but, simultaneously, directed that the trial could begin only after its consent.
