With no fresh incident reported today, patrol by the police and para-military forces continued and the Army was standing by here to assist the Karbi Anglong district administration, they said.

Yesterday, the demonstrators belonging to Karbi Students Association, Karbi Riso Adorba and other organisations attacked the residences of Congress MP Birensing Ingti, MLA Bidyasing Engleng, Council’s CEM Joyram Engleng and four of its executive members, damaging their property.

The district administration imposed indefinite curfew in Diphu and called in the Army to assist them.
