With the State Government making it compulsory for its citizens to be armed with Aadhaar card, beneficiaries may not be able to get even the domestic cooking gas at subsidised rates in future if they do not possess the aforesaid cards.
The Government is planning to grant subsidies including the domestic cooking gas subsidies through the bank accounts of beneficiaries in future. So, in case the beneficiaries do not possess the Aadhaar card, the subsidy will not be deposited to their bank accounts.
More so, it will not be easy for anyone to open a bank account without the aforesaid card from next year 2015. Aadhaar card presents our national identity. So to have an Aadhaar card will be made compulsory for opening a bank account from 2015, said the State Finance Minister, Indira Hridayesh.
More so, without Aadhaar card the beneficiaries will also not be able to avail benefits of the Government schemes in future as the Government is planning to deposit the subsidies to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, she added. In case the beneficiaries do not posses Aadhaar cards, subsidies will not be deposited in their bank accounts, she said.
However, efforts are being taken by the State Government to make Aadhar card of the cent percent people in the State, the State Finance Minister informed, saying special camps are being organised in many places so that people could make the Aadhaar cards at their doorsteps. Many agencies have been hired by the Government to make Aadhar cards for all citizens, she added.
At the same time the State Finance Minister informed that the Aadhaar cards are being prepared free of cost. There are complaints alleging that an amount of Rs50 is being charged for preparing the Aadhaar card. But that is not right, added Haridayesh, urging the citizens to take up such complaints with the respective DMs or SDMs.
At the same time, Hardiyesh directed the officials concerned to address the Aadhaar card related complaints of the citizens on priority basis and deal strictly with those who are found indulged in taking charge for preparing Aadhaar cards.
