The 21-year-old woman, who has lodged a complaint against three police officers for allegedly disrobing her and rubbing chilli powder on her private parts, has been thrown out of the private hostel she has been living in for the past seven months.Speaking to TOI, the woman said, “When I went to the hostel after I was released from police detention, the lady warden asked me to vacate my room without citing any reason. I was told that the owners of the hostel were not happy with police personnel coming to the premises. “ The woman moved out of the hostel, which is located in the Cidco area, and has been staying at a city lodge with her mother and younger brother.

The woman, an engineering diploma holder, was detained by the police on January 4 along with her two female friends in connection with the death of their common friend, a 17-year-old boy.

The women, the boy and other friends had partied on January 1. The woman said the boy got violent after consuming alcohol and was slapped by a youth in the group. According to the woman, the boy fell and hurt himself badly while fleeing from the group. He was taken to hospital but was declared brought dead.

However, after probing the incident for a few days, the police changed the nature of the case from an accidental death to murder. Police officers claimed the boy had been assaulted and that the incident had been captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the lodge where he died.
