Actually in India there is no shortage of political leaders, celebs, famous personalities and other public speakers who think it’s their birth right to poke and comment in a cowardly manner about woman and rape. It’s very difficult for a survivor of a rape case who actually deals with number of problems like social worlds, delay in justice, mental torture, etc. people who pass such painful comments don’t even realize that their comments adds like salt to their wounds. Even cops and media ask the victim about how it happened, where it happened, what were you doing? Some politicians commented by saying that woman’s are at the fault, they give chance to boys, boys will be boys; such comments are showcasing Indian ethics and moral values in International countries.

Here is a list of statements passed on by politicians, leaders, celebrities on rape and there mindset about woman:

1.       Mulayam Singh Yadav – Boys will be boys

Former Chief Minister of Samajwadi party commented by saying “boys will be boys”and that they “make mistakes”should go down in to the history as the example of a leader who has little or no concern about the like-altering consequences of rape. “Rape accused should not be hanged. Men make mistakes.” He had added that, “When their friendship ends, the girl complains she has been raped.”

(Considering the fact that Indian male or we must say boys commit mistakes and must not be punished. Will you react and comment in the same way when it happens to your wife or any female in your family? I hope you need a second thought.)

 2.  Akhilesh Yadav- Aapko toh khatra nahin hua

Akhilesh Yadav 6

Current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh did not directly pointed out fingers about rape or their survivors or on the victims, but yes he reacted insensitively about the gang rape and murders of 2 dalit sisters in Badaun.

(Mr Yadav you said it’s not as if you faced any danger. Can you please elaborate what you meant by this? Or did you mean if such incidents take place we should not raise until it harms each and every individual?)

3.       SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav – TV brings vulgarity into homes

(Sir, can you please stop pointing out at the media, as it fulfils it duty and responsibility towards society of making them aware of the current situation)

4. Abu Azmi – Even the woman is guilty

Another leader from Samajwadi party and father in law of Ayesha Takia, crossed all limits and said that those women who get raped should be hanged and also that just because by virtue of the fact that married women have extramarital sex they should be punished along with the rapist. “Rape is punishable by hanging in Islam. But here, nothing happens to women, only to men. Even the woman is guilty.” “Solution is this: any woman if, whether married or unmarried, goes along with a man, with or without her consent, should be hanged. Both should be hanged. It shouldn’t be allowed even if a woman goes by consent.”

(Sir, here we people are talking about rape, I hope you understand this term very well. And for God’s sake please don’t link this with religion)

5. Mamata Banerjee – Sajano ghotona  to malign the government

The allegation made by an Anglo-Indian woman that she was brutally raped in a car at a classy locality in Kolkata. West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata being a woman first passed such comments is shocking.

(We mean Ma’am are you seriously unaware of the situation. How can you say such a thing?)

6. Asaram Bapu –  Victim daughter is Guilty as her rapists

Asaram self claimed as the Godmen, commented on Delhi Rape case by saying that the victim daughter is as guilty as her rapists…She should have called the culprits brothers and begged before them.

(I think we must practice what we preach. As you also committed the same mistake and now you are behind bars along with your son)

7.  Ashok Singhal, VHP international advisor – Live-in relationships

According to him foreign and western culture are rising and concept of live-in relationships are not only foreign to our culture, but also hostile. Virginity was preserved, but the purity has been totally disturbed now.

(Sir it’s high time we appoint some other person in your place or start with virginity campaign sort of thing)

8. Abhijit Mukherjee, MP  – beautiful women’s are usually highly dented-painted

Member of Parliament from West Bengal and son of India’s President Pranab Mukheerjee commented by saying Indians woman’s are mostly highly dented and painted.

(Sir, there is no such act passed or implemented where in men can’t go to the spa or saloons for getting dented and painted)

9.       Raj Thackeray – Behind every rape Bihari is involved

Raj Thackeray, founder of MNS said that all are talking about the Delhi gang rape, but no one is talking about the fact that all these rapists are from Bihar. The system has collapsed…”

(Mr Thackeray do you remember the Marine Drive rape case? There was no Bihari involved)

10. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Trinamool Congress MP – Kind of misunderstanding

Datidar representing Trinamool Congress stated that “The Park Street rape is a different case altogether. That was not at all a rape case. It was a misunderstanding between the two parties involved between a lady and her client…”.

(With this kind of understanding about rape the police will be sitting idle in coming days.)
