Udaipur (Rajasthan), Jun 19: Two workers were killed and 14 others were seriously injured when a boiler exploded inside the Hindustan Zinc plant owned by Vedanta group on Monday.
Workers alleged that nearly ten workers were killed in the blast.
The boiler was shut down on June 4 for servicing, but the management carried on with the production, workers alleged.
There were nearly 40 workers on duty near the boiler, when it suddenly exploded.
Angry workers scuffled with security officials after the mishap, and ransacked the Hindustan Zinc ambulance.
District officials of Rajsamand and the Hindustan Zinc management were tightlipped about the mishap

Attacking the ambulance was foolish. I do not approve of this idiotic act. The union leaders must be ashamed of this act which inconveniences and exposes their own colleagues to hazard threatening their life.
