Does United States want a president with a proven record of bigotry, racism, sexism and pure ignorance?
For a few hours after he won the New York primary last week, Donald Trump sounded like he had changed. He was polite and even sounded a little dignified.
His campaign is trying to reform Trump’s image as much as possible. During the weekend, his campaign’s senior advisor Paul Manafort saidthat the candidate was planning to “evolve” as the general election approaches.
Roughly translated, it means that if Trump needs to strike a conciliatory tone with the Republican Party to win, then he is going to do just that.
And Trump, the Republican front runner admitted as such when he told an audience in Waterbury, Connecticut: “When I’m in a room, talking, you’re one way, when I’m out here talking to you people, I’ve got to be different, alright. I mean I can say basically the same thing.”
Manafort says changing his tone doesn’t mean he will withdraw his plan to end illegal immigration or end his plan of building the wall along the Mexico/United States border or his wish to terminate international trade deals.
A few questions for the voters:
You do realise that Trump is “behaving” himself for the moment so he can get the nomination that the Republican Party is reluctant to give him?
Even though he is on the clear path to winning the 1,237 delegates he needs. Currently, he leads with 845 delegates while Ted Cruz trails with 543 and Kasich with 148.
Both the Cruz and Kasich campaigns announced on April 24 that they are collaborating to stop Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump thinks that all he has to do is sound presidential.
How on earth is changing his tone going to erase Trump’s history?
A ‘shortlist’ of all that Trump has done wrong for many years now:
Eventually, Obama released his birth certificate which proved that Trump was wrong.
They had actually said that they would accept a total number of 1,85,000 refugees of all nationalities in the two next two years. The actual number of Syrian refugees to be accepted in 2016 would be 10,000.
At one point, Trump said president George W Bush was trying to shut him down because he had apparently opposed the Iraq War.
But this Fact Check article revealed that there is no evidence that Trump ever opposed the war before it started. He just mentioned that it would be costly.
Within a month of declaring his candidacy for president, Trump had called Mexicans “rapists”.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said. “They’re sending people that have lots of problems… they’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Then he said that America would build a wall along the border and then he said he would make Mexico pay for it.
|Donald Trump has a record of insulting women.|
And then he said that he would round up 11 million undocumented immigrants and deport them in what would be the largest forced population movement since the Pol Pot genocide of the Cambodian people, though he never explained how he would go about doing that.
Opponents have said it’s virtually impossible, given the amount of money and manpower it would require.
Are voters forgetting this?
How about the ridiculous, hateful claim he made about “banning Muslims”? But he never once explained how he was going to accomplish that.
Trump has a track record of insulting women. Do you recall that moment on television when he angrily berated Fox News anchor Megan Kelly just because she asked him why he called women he disliked “pigs”, “dogs,” “slobs” and “disgusting animals”?
Do you want any man talking about our daughters, our sisters or our mothers in that manner?
Trump has insulted the differently abled. He publicly mocked a reporter with a disability just because the former disagreed with Trump’s assessment of a story he had written.
Trump has angered, ridiculed and alienated so many minorities and causes that I don’t have even have enough space to write about it. These are just a few examples.
Remember this: a candidate will say anything to win. But in the case of a candidate like Trump, with a proven record of bigotry, lies, racism, sexism and pure ignorance, you will be making a huge mistake if you send him to the White House.http://www.dailyo.in/politics/usa-donald-trump-illegal-immigration-barack-obama-syrian-refugees-bigotry-sexism-white-house/story/1/10281.html
