Motihari: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped and murdered in East Champaran district of Bihar. Now, a video clip has gone viral where the accused can be seen burning the victim’s body.
In the video, the victim’s mother can be heard weeping for her deceased daughter.
The 12-year-old minor was gang raped by four people on January 21 when she was alone at her house.
The victim is a native of Barbardiya in Nepal and stayed with her father who works as a night watchman at the local market.
The victim’s father was allegedly threatened by the accused if he approached local police with a complaint.
An audio clip has also gone viral where Kundwa Chainpur police station SHO Sanjiv Ranjan can be allegedly heard directing the accused to cremate the victim’s body to destroy evidence.
The SHO asked a local leader Ramesh Sah to dispose of the girl’s body before the victim’s family approach the police.
On February 3, the deceased girl’s father approached the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Motihari to file an FIR.
Meanwhile, the SP of East Champaran Navin Chandra Jha has said that four persons have been booked for rape and murder. While seven others have been booked for the destruction of evidence. Two of seven have been arrested.
Police have also suspended the SHO for the delay in lodging an FIR and not sending the body for post-mortem despite having knowledge of the crime.
