Chennai College Student Allegedly Raped by 'Fake' Policeman
CHENNAI A college student in Chennai has alleged that she was raped by a man posing as a policeman.

The girl has filed a police complaint in which she has said that she was with her boyfriend on Tuesday when the man stopped them at a checkpost and asked the girl to come with him for investigation. The girl said the accused forced her to come with him on his motorcycle and sexually assaulted her.

The accused asked the girl’s boyfriend to take her from the police station after routine “inquiry.” But the boy could not find her there.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera installed at the checkpost. The police are examining the footage to identify the accused; a case of rape has been registered based on the girl’s complaint.

“We are investigating. We have filed a case of rape. The medical report is awaited. She’s also giving contradictory information,” said a police officer.

On Friday, a woman teacher was robbed of her jewels in broad daylight in Chennai by a knife wielding man and a resident has captured it on camera.
