New Delhi: While India celebrated 65th Republic Day on Sunday by showcasing its armed forces’ power at Rajpath near India Gate, the capital city proved to be as vulnerable for women as any other day since December 16 in 2012.
In yet another shocking incident of crime against women in the national capital, a 28-year old woman was allegedly raped by her friends in a moving.
The police have lodged a case and a hunt has been launched to arrest the culprits.
The cops found the woman weeping outside the Anand Vihar Inter-state Bus Terminal in east Delhi on Sunday evening.
In her complaint to police, the women told police that she was raped by her friend in front of his two friends in a moving car. According to her, the man lured her in his car promising a job in a factory. She also said that the trio even thrashed her when she resisted their move.
The victim was sent for medical examination where the report confirmed rape.
The capital city of India has been dubbed as the most unsafe city for women.
Earlier in mid-January, a 51-year-old Danish tourist was gangraped in Pahargunj area near Connaught Place resulting in chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s protest near Rail Bhavan.
