FIR lodged in bid to issue #Aadhar card to dog #UID #WTFnews

Varanasi: In a hilarious slip-up in enrollment process of Aadhaar card, an attempt was made in Ghazipur district to enroll a dog for issuing unique identification number (UID). However, the dog’s form was rejected and the operator of the company engaged in UID work was booked under relevant section of IPC.

Reports said at a camp for Aadhar card enrollment in Rajapur village in the first week of March, computer operator of a private company Manish Kumar uploaded the picture of a dog and furnished fake details for enrollment. When it came to the notice of higher authorities, the card was rejected and action was initiated against the operator.

An FIR was registered against Manish with Bahariyabad PS under section 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation) of IPC on Thursday. SO Shiv Kumar Mishra told TOI over phone that the FIR was lodged by the district coordinator of the company Ajay Singh. He said the operator had uploaded dog’s picture just for fun, but failed to remove it.

Singh said that the company took this irresponsible act seriously and asked to lodge a complaint against the guilty operator. He said that the Aadhar card with dog’s picture was not issued, but it was rejected after detecting the error.
