Goa Police write to De Niro regarding Tarun Tejpal case

PANAJI: The Goa Police have written to Hollywood star Robert De Niro seeking answers to a set of questions related to the alleged sexual assault case against Tehelka founder, Tarun Tejpal.
The journalist, who has accused Tejpal of the assault, was assigned to take care of De Niro and his daughter at the Tehelka fest in Goa during which the alleged incident happened in November.
A police officer told TOI they contacted De Niro through his attorney on Tuesday. He has assured them of full cooperation. His statement is required to corroborate the sequence of events related to video footage acquired as part of the investigations.
Tejpal was arrested on November 30 and has since been in judicial custody.
