Kalyan: Thane Police have so far arrested 29 suspects in connection with the gang-rape of 15-year-old girl in Dombivli in Maharashtra. The minor was raped on multiple occasions after being sedated by making her drink fruit juice.
According to police, the minor girl was sexually assaulted by at least 15 men on one occasion. Till Friday afternoon, 28 men were arrested by the cops.
One more person was arrested by Friday evening taking the total arrests in the case to 29. Thirty-three accused have been named by the police in the rape case, according to a report in Times of India. It is alleged that most of the accused were known to the victim
Two of the accused are juveniles and have been shifted to Bhiwandi remand home. The other suspects have been remanded to police custody till September 29.
ACP Sonali Dhole, who is the investigation officer, in the case, said four separate teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused and they will be arrested soon.
Police have also seized the mobile phones of the arrested accused and they will be sent for forensic analysis and to retrieve the data.
The prime accused identified as Vijay Fuke befriended the minor on a social media platform. He then raped her and also recorded the video of the girl and used it to blackmail her and forced her into sexual acts with his friends.
Police said many accused have deleted the video from their phone. The video was sent to them by Fuke. They have also deleted the social media app through which they contacted the girl. h
The girl’s ordeal began on January 29 when Fuke took her to a friend’s house. They served her juice laced with sedatives and recorded her video and raped her. Fuke later blackmailed the girl and repeatedly raped her. It is alleged that the accused later shared the video with his friends who then blackmailed the minor girl and raped her. courtesy MM
