On 22 May 2015 morning, a Dalit minor girl Snehalata (15 years) went missing after she went to the river for bathing in Sargipali village, Khaprakhol block, Balangir, Odisha.

Next day late afternoon, her brutally violated and mutilated body was found 50 metres away from where she was picked.

Till now, not a single arrest has been made.

For more than a decade, Khaprakhol block has been a laboratory of caste terror of all kinds, while the perpetrators are given unprecedented impunity.

Snehalata’s gang rape and brutal murder is the latest in the long list of caste atrocities spreading unabated in the region.
