BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj may well be in for trouble. A petition has been filed against him in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for making offensive remarks against the judiciary.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has agreed to hear the plea today. After conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the controversial MP had told the media persons that the judiciary will also be held responsible if the law and order situation goes out of control owing to conviction of Dera Chief.

Also, in another petition, a CBI inquiry has been demanded against the Manohar Lal Khattar government for giving out lakhs of rupees to the Dera Chief on one pretext or the other.

Action has been demanded against Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma for making irresponsible statement. Sharma had claimed that Section 144 of CrPC was not applicable against the Dera followers since they had assembled “peacefully” owing to their “devotion” for the Dera Chief.

Ram Bilas Sharma had also given 51 lakh rupees from State coffers to Dera Chief to build a stadium. A CBI inquiry has been demanded into this.
