Data obtained from the police shows that there were as many as 2317 incidents of riots between 16 March and 31 May this year. This witnessed an increase of more than 30 percent compared to the last year, when 1771 rioting cases were reported during the same period.
Another worrying trend witnessed under Yogi administration is the alarming rise in the crimes against women. The rape cases have almost doubled under Yogi as the state’s chief minister.
1138 cases of rape were reported between March and May showing a huge increase compared to the same period in 2017, when total number of rape cases reported to be 781.

Overall, the state has witnessed an increase in crimes with cases related to looting, robbery and kidnapping all going up in the first three months of Aditynatah as UP chief minister.
