A journalism student lodged a complaint at the Borivli police station on Saturday after she found that her picture had been uploaded on a news portal alongside a rape report in Bhopal, indicating that she was survivor, though she is not connected to the case. The police registered a case against an unknown person under provisions of the IPC and the Information Technology Act.In the Bhopal rape case, a policeman’s daughter was dragged near a culvert on Tuesday and raped when she was on her way to board a train. The complainant, who is based in Mumbai, told the Borivli police she had been alerted about the picture by a friend. She decided to approach the police to get the picture removed and find out who was responsible for uploading it. On Saturday , she met zonal DCP Vikram Deshmane.The police consulted legal experts before lodging an FIR.
