A Bahrainian envoy in Mumbai has been booked for allegedly molesting the woman manager of his housing society but not arrested due to the diplomatic immunity he enjoys.

The case has been registered with Malabar Hill police station against counsel general of Baharain Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khaja for allegedly molesting and verbally abusing on December 9 the manager of the south Mumbai society.

As per the complaint Khaja has been booked under sections 354 (molestation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of IPC.

A senior police officer attached with Malabar Hill police station senior revealed that Khaja molested the 49-year-old victim, a housing society manager, where  Khaja lives for last five years.

Khaja lost his cool after one of the elevators of the building was shut for repairs on December 9 and during that the female manager intervened and asked her to calm down but Khaja touched and abused the 49-year-old as per the police complaint
