Who slaughtered the cow or calf ? And why?
On the complaints of those named accused in the murder of Akhlaq, a local court in Surajpur had directed the Gautam Budh Nagar police to register a case against Akhlaq’s family under the UP Cow Protection Act, 1955. However, investigators have failed to find any evidence that could establish that a cow was slaughtered at Akhlaq’s house. CO-rank officer Anurag Singh, who had supervised investigations into the case, has maintained that investigators have failed to find knives or other weapons which could establish that a cow was slaughtered on the spot. Sources said po lice were preparing a watertight case before going for a final report to close the probe expected to follow in the near future. After of lit if harassment to the family of Akhalaq, there is a hope of clearing charges of cow slaughter. This is justice delayed as one year has elapsed . The matter of how the case has been filed should be investigated and the guilty punished.
