A protest against the ‘Love Jihad’ happened in Bangalore yesterday as more and more BJP ruled states including Karnataka are planning to pass an ordinance against so-called Love Jihad or forced conversions for the sake of marriage.

Your hatred will be defeated in front of our Love. Choose Love instead of Hate. With love only a truly equal society can be created. With posters like ‘Need Love, Not Hate” hundreds of people had gathered and called to end this hate campaign against Love.

Hundreds of people protested at Bangalore’s Mysore Bank circle. The groups included the Joint Movement Committee of Karnataka Women’s, Dalit, Muslim, Gender, and Sexual Minorities organisations.

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, BJP leaders like CT Ravi, and Shashikala Jolle have called to have a similar law as Uttar Pradesh saying “love Jihad” is going on”.

“LOVE IS THE ESSENCE OF THE CONSTITUTION. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD THE CONSTITUTION. UNTIL YOU LEARN WE WILL KEEP PROTESTING. “

The country is going through an economic crisis, farmers are protesting against farm laws. In such situations to distract people, BJP is bringing this fake debate of Love Jihad to the front.

In the name of protecting women, the BJP is running a campaign to control who women should love, whom should they marry. We oppose such laws that are being used to further divide society on the basis of caste, religion, citizenship, and ethnicity.

Please share your views on Twitter and other social media forums. With the title of “The campaign against the Criminalisation of Interfaith love” is the campaign against BJP’s love Jihad imaginary, share it on social media.

Today, the opposition leader Siddaramaiah also announced that making of such a law to ban ‘Love Jihad’  is a desperate attempt to take attention from the failure of this government. This declaration has no good intentions other than a malicious act of provoking communal hatred.
