FIR against producer of ‘Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah’, 2 others on actor’s complaint of sexual harassmentThe FIR was lodged at Powai police station on Monday evening under Indian Penal Code Sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman),

On Monday, the Mumbai police filed an FIR against the producer of everyone’s favourite television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah.

Asit Kumarr Modi has been accused of the heinous act by an actor on the show. The complaint also names operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj.

According to a report by Entertainment Times, the FIR has been registered by Powai Police under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) – assault or criminal force against a woman with the intention to outrage her modesty.

However, despite the First Information Report (FIR) being filed by the cops, no arrests have been made yet.

The complainant, an actor on the popular show, claimed that Modi, Ramani, and Bajaj sexually harassed her in the workplace.

The accusations first began in May this year, and the makers of the show had released a statement saying that the actor was doing shoddy work which led to her termination from the show. The statement fully supported the producer and alleged that this is the actor’s way to get revenge for being fired from TMKOC.

Back then, Modi had said that legal action will be taken against the actress for defaming his name and reputation by making baseless allegations.

In an interview with ETimes, the actress had said, “Asit Modi has made sexual advances towards me many times in the past. Initially, I ignored all his statements because of fear of losing out on work. But it is enough now I won’t take it anymore. They tried to forcefully stop me on the sets and were shutting the gates and not allowing me to go out. I sent the complaint mail to authorities a month back but haven’t got any revert. I am sure they must be looking into it and working towards the care. I am sure they must be investigating. I have hired a lawyer and I know I will get justice very soon.”
